Picnicking

Our Conservation Areas feature many areas where you can have a picnic. Set up at a picnic table, spread out a blanket on the grass, or book a picnic shelter. Breathe in the fresh air, enjoy the outdoors, and share a get together with friends or family for an outdoor meal.

Alcohol use is not permitted at picnic facilities.

Selwyn Beach Conservation Area

Enjoy a convenient picnic shelter near the beach with a central barbecue, tables, washrooms, and change houses.

To reserve the picnic shelter at Selwyn Beach Conservation Area, contact the Warsaw Caves Conservation Area staff during the operational season. You can reach them at 705-652-3161 or 1-877-816-7604.

Squirrel Creek Conservation Area

Squirrel Creek Conservation Area offers 2 picnic shelters on a first-come, first-served basis. Open areas near the parking lot and waterfront are also great for family gatherings. Squirrel Creek Conservation Area also has two baseball diamonds.

Contact the Arena and Recreation Manager at the Township of Otonabee-South Monaghan to book a picnic shelter or sports field at mnelson@osmtownship.ca  or 705-295-6862.

Warsaw Caves Conservation Area

The Warsaw Caves Conservation Area picnic shelter is located near the beach. It is available on a first-come, first-served basis and can also be reserved for special functions. 

To reserve the picnic shelter at Warsaw Caves Conservation Area, contact the gatehouse during the operational season. You can reach them at 705-652-3161 or 1-877-816-7604.
