  • FLOOD WATCH issued August 29th, 2024

    This FLOOD WATCH is issued for all watercourses within the jurisdiction of Otonabee Conservation, except the Trent-Severn Waterway. During the Labour Day weekend, rainfall and moderate to strong thunderstorms could bring flood-inducing heavy downpours to the region.

  • Water Safety Statement issued for all local watercourses August 16, 2024

    This WATERSHED CONDITIONS STATEMENT – WATER SAFETY is issued because of widespread rainfall events that may cause increased flow and water levels that can be dangerous, but flooding is not expected.

  • FLOOD WATCH - Issued August 8th, 2024

    Rain is expected to start this afternoon, Thursday, August 8, 2024, and total rainfall over the next 48-hours is expected to be 40-50 mm, including periods of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms due to remnants of Tropical Storm Debby interacting with a low-pressure system. Rainfall amounts may be higher (50-100mm) if the storm follows a more northerly path and showers are forecast to continue from Saturday through Monday.

  • FLOOD WATCH Issued Wednesday July 24, 2024

    Due to the potential for heavy rainfall, all watercourses within Otonabee Conservation jurisdiction may experience higher than normal water levels and flows.

  • THIS FLOOD MESSAGE HAS EXPIRED- FLOOD WATCH - Issued July 16, 2024

    Residents of flood prone areas and shorelines are advised to stay be prepared for potential flooding and stay aware of local weather conditions and alerts over the next 48 hours.  Recreational water users are urged to remain cautious because high water levels and flows will continue through the weekend.  

  • THIS FLOOD MESSAGE HAS EXPIRED: Watershed Safety Bulletin Issued June 22, 2024

    WATERSHED CONDITIONS STATEMENT – WATER SAFETY issued for all area local watercourses.

    ISSUED TO: Municipalities of Selwyn, Douro-Dummer, Asphodel-Norwood, Otonabee-South Monaghan, Cavan Monaghan, Trent Hills, City of Peterborough, and City of Kawartha Lakes, as well as Otonabee Conservation’s other partners in flood emergency management.

    This WATERSHED CONDITIONS STATEMENT – WATER SAFETY is issued as a result of widespread rainfall events causing higher-than-normal water flows and levels that may be dangerous, but flooding is not expected.

  • THIS FLOOD MESSAGE HAS EXPIRED | Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety | May 2, 2024

    A Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety message has been issued for the Trent Severn Waterway due to recent widespread rainfall events causing higher-than-normal water flows and levels that may be dangerous, but flooding is not expected.

  • THIS FLOOD MESSAGE HAS EXPIRED | Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety | April 26, 2024

    WATERSHED CONDITIONS STATEMENT – WATER SAFETY issued for all area waterbodies and watercourses, including local rivers, streams, and creeks and the Trent-Severn Waterway.

  • THIS FLOOD MESSAGE HAS EXPIRED | Flood Watch Issued For Trent Severn Waterway on April 15, 2024

    A Flood Watch has been issued to alert municipalities, residents, and businesses that flooding of the Kawartha Lakes from the Tri-lakes (Buckhorn Lake, Pigeon Lake and Chemong Lake) eastward to the Otonabee River, Rice Lake, and Trent River to Hastings is possible.

  • THIS FLOOD MESSAGE HAS EXPIRED | Water Safety Statement Issued April 2, 2024

    A WATERSHED CONDITIONS STATEMENT – WATER SAFETY has been issued on April 2, 2024 because expected rainfall events over the next 3 days will cause periods of higher-than-normal water flows/levels that may be dangerous. Flooding is not expected.
